Day 1
Arrival to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Vilnius. Dinner.
Day 2
A three hour tour round Vilnius, town established on three hills by the Great Duke Gediminas in 1323. Visit: Cathedral, the symbol of Lithuania, first built in the 13th century, the gothic gem St Ann’s Church, Vilnius University that is the oldest one in Eastern Europe, the Jewish Settlement, the Gates of the Dawn with its miraculous painting of St Virgin Mary, the masterpiece of the 17th century Baroque St Peter and Paul’s Church. Time at leisure. Overnight.
Day 3
A trip to Trakai, a small town that lies 28 km from Vilnius on a peninsula in the middle of three adjoining lakes. The town is also known as the historical capital of Lithuania. An excursion to the island castle called „the castle on the water“. Travel back to Vilnius. Overnight.
Day 4
Travel to Riga, the capital and seaport of Latvia. Stop in Rundale Palace, masterpiece of baroque, designed for the Duke of Courland in the 18th century by Italian architect Rastrelli, the designer of the Winter Palace in St Petersburg. Overnight in Riga. Dinner.
Day 5
A three hour tour round Riga, one of the oldest Hanseatic League towns established in 1201 by the German merchants. Visit most famous sights: St Peter’s Church that has the highest wooden tower in Eastern Europe, Dome Cathedral with its largest organs in Europe, the Great and Small Guild Halls, the House of Blackheads that used to serve as a hotel for single traveling merchants, Swedish Gate, Riga Castle, the biggest gallery of Art Nouveau architecture designed by Russian architect Eisenstein. Free time. Overnight in Riga.
Day 6
Departure to Tallinn via Sigulda, the central town of the Gauja National Park that is called the “Latvian Switzerland”. Arrival to Tallinn, the capital and seaport of Estonia. Overnight in Tallinn. Dinner.
Day 7
A three hour tour round Tallinn, the town put on the world map in 1154 by the Arabian geographer. Visit most significant historical and architectural monuments: Toompea Hill, St Alexander Nevski’s Orthodox Chathedral, a 19th century symbol of Tsar’s power, the Parliament of Estonia, Kiek in de Kok, the Dome Church, the masterpiece of Gothic, the Town Hall Square, the medieval market place and a popular meeting point at present, St Nicholas Church. Free time. Overnight in Tallinn.
Day 8
Transfer to the airport. Departure from Tallinn.
